Milk rejection rate and hygienic state of dairy farms in North-western Region of Jeonnam Province were surveyed during the last four years between 1981 and 1984. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Rejection rate of raw milk during the four years was 0.41% and the rate was marked highest in summer followed by spring, winter and autumn. 2. The percentage of dairy farms having milk cooling machine was 20% in 1981 and gradually increased as year goes, up to 52.7% in 1984. 3. The percentage of milk showing positive reaction within two hours by methylene blue reduction test was highest in summer months followed by spring and winter, the results corresponded to the alcohol precipitation test. 4. The longer the transportation time of raw milk takes the higher the rejection rate of the milk was.
