Quality control and quantitative analysis of the current animal drugs collected from the markets during 1968~1986

A total of 2,405 samples consisted of the nutritives (1082 samples) and the therapeutics (1323 samples), collected from the market during 1968~1986 was examined for the quality control of the animal drugs. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. A total of 331 cases (13.7%) out of 2405 samples was recognized as unqualified. The number of items unqualified was 137 cases (10.4%) and 194 cases (17.9%), in the therapeutics and in the nutritives, respectively. 2. Among the samples of 2405, the unqualified items with content-shortage were 258 cases (10,7%) and with content-surplus 73 cases (3.0%). The shortage and surplus in the therapeutics were 124 cases (9.4%) and 13 cases (1.0%), whereas, in the nutritives 134 cases (12.4%) and 60 cases (5.0%), respectively. 3. In general, it was revealed that the unqualified rate in the nutritives was higher than in the therapeutics, except the items collected in 1972, 1985 and 1986.
