A total of nine house rats(Rattus rattus) was caught in a house in Anyang city, Korea, during the period from June, 15, to July, 1, 1986. The trials to isolate the intestinal coccidia and to inoculate the agents into the laboratory white rat(Rattus norvegicus albinus) were carried out as the host model transformation experiment. The results obtained were summarized as follows; The prevalence rate of the coccidial infections was high as 33.3% and a total of six Eimeria species(miyairii, nieschultzi, separata, hasei, nochti and ratti) was identified (Species(4) are firstly reported to occur in Korea). The inoculation experiment of the coccidia isolated was performed to infect into the laboratory white rats by means of oral administration of the sporulated oocysts at the level of 26×10³ OPG. It was recognized that the average prepatent period was six days (5 to 8 days) and that the pathogenicity of the agents was as low as nearly non-pathogenic.
