This experiment was conducted an inquiring into the posibility of raising for Meretrix lusoria in Pack nyun-ri(Puan-gun Chonbuk). The chemical compositions such as chemical oxygen demand(COD), organic carbon(OC), organic nitrogen(ON), and sulfide(S) and microorganisms such as aerobic-and sulfate-reducing-bacteria in mud of the Western-sea-coast, Pack nyun-ri where artificial M. lusoria had rised until 1975 and Ke hwa-do having produce natural M. lusoria, were compared, Four area(station) of mud at Pack nyun-ri were plowed for aerogation twice per week during 5-month(from June to October, 1986). 1. The values of COD, OC, and S of Pack nyun-ri were 2-fold as much as those of Ke hwa-do, but no difference in bacterial counts. 2. After 5-month Pack nyun-ri was plowed, the chemical compositions of these area decreased as a half values. 3. Of these results indicate that the mud of Pack nyun-ri should be plowed for raising M. lusoria.
