A survey on the prevalence of internal parasitism in Korea was carried out for a total of 1,041 pigs using the fecal examination during the period of February to November 1987. The results obtained were summarized as follsws. 1. The overall infection rate of the internal parasites was as high as 67% and seven species of parasites were idetified. 2. Among the species identified, the most commonly encountered parasite was Balantidium coli(57.7%). 3. Kangwon(85.3%) ana Chungchong(82.2%) areas appeared with relatively higher infection rates than any other areas. 4. It was revealed that the infection rates in sows were higher than in those growers, slaughter pigs and young piglets. 5. In comparision to the past, the infection rates being decresed were M. apri, O. dentatum, and S. ransomi and no significant variances between present and past were Coccidia T. suis.
