Serotypes and biotypes of campylobacter jejuni from pigeno feces

This study was conducted to determine the epidemiological characteristics of campylobacter enteritis. A total of 178 fecal specimens of pigeon were examined presence of C. jejuni. Forty-three strains isolated were examined for biotype and serological properties. A total of 43(24.2%) C. jejuni were isolated from the fecal specimens of 178 pigeons. In the biotyping of 43 strains of C. jejuni isolated 95.3% of the strains were grouped as biotype Ⅰ, 2.3% as biotype Ⅱ and Ⅳ, respectively. Isolated C. jejuni strains showed 7 different serotype by Lior serotyping scheme and serotype 18(39.5%), 18 and 30 mixing(23.3%) were most frequent.
