Clostridium perfringens which are one of the major causative organism calf enterotoxemia were isolated from diarrheal faeces of calves web digestive diseases, and isolated Cl. perfringens were identified by biochemical test. and subsequently the susceptibility to antibiotics of Cl. perfringens isolated were investigated for selection of effective antimicrobial. The incidence of diarrheal in calves were appeared in 300 (17.6%) of examined 1,700 calves. The isolation of Cl. perfringens from diarrheal feces were 95 strains (31.7%) of 300 samples, and these were identified by biochemical test. The population of Cl. perfringens in faeces were ranged 10⁷⁻⁸/g in 34(35.8%) and 10²⁻⁶/g in 61(64.2%) of 95 samples in case of diarrheal feces, and 10¹⁻⁵/g in samples in case of health faeces. The toxin of isolated 40 strains were a]most neutralized by Cl. perfringens type A antitoxin but not by type B, C, D and E antitoxin. In antimicrobial drug susceptibility to isolated strains, all strains were highly susceptible to cephalthin, chloramphenicol and penicillin.
