A lot of folcks of guinea fowls showed clinical signs such as 30 to 40% decrease in egg production, loss of appetite, greenish water diarrhea and 15% mortality in Anyang, Kyonggi province. The Hemagglutination Inhibition(HI) titers of the sera submitted from guinea fowl flocks at 16 months age which were no vaccination to Newcastle Disease were 5.6 log2 and 6.6 log2, respectively. Newcastle disease viruses from guinea fowl which were submitted for diagnostic service at our laboratory were isolated for the first time Korea from 2 guinea fowls. The result of HI titers from live B1 vaccination at 10-15 age and 26-31 age of young guinea fowls were 4.41 log2 and 5.41 log2. It is emphasized that guinea fowl as well as chicken should be vaccinated to prevent spreading of Newcastle disease.
