屠畜牛에서 latex 凝集反應에 의한 toxoplasma 항체 조사와 toxoplasma 분리시험

Latex agglutination test for toxoplasmosis and isolation of toxoplasma from slaughtered cattle

Slaughtered cattle, 120 Holstein and 84 Korean cattle from Yungnam area were tested for antibodies against Toxoplasma by Latex agglutination test. Isolations of Toxoplasma from heart muscle and diaphragmatic muscle of the same cattle were attempted by using cat. On the other hand, 75 slaughtered pigs were tested by the same ways to compare with the prevalence of Toxoplasma in cattle. Of 120 Holstein and 84 Korean cattle from Taegu, Kyungjoo, Geochang and Hammyang, 19 (9.3% ) cattle were seropositive for Toxoplasma. But none of the cattle was demonatrated Toxoplasma. Of 120 Holstein, 15 (12.5%) were positive and of 84 Korean cattle, 4 (4.8%) were positive. Of 75 pigs, 14 (18.7%) were positive and Toxoplasma was isolated from 4 (5.3%) pigs on Latex agglutination test titers of 1:64 or higher.
