Evaluation of the efficacy of cypermethrin and dichlorvos mixtures for the control of flies

Mixture with cypermethrin (Cyp) 7.5% and dichlorvos (Dic) 10% and mixtures in combination with piperonyl butoxide (PB), S421 and KNZ were prepared respectively and evaluated the efficacy for the control of flies. To evaluate the preparations, exposure cages (0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5m) wrapped with nets were made and flies used in the trials were trapped in the piggeries and poultry houses. Most of trapped flies were Musca sp. and some were Fannia sp. and Lucilia sp. The knockdown effects of Cyp+Dic mixture and Cyp+Dic+PB mixture against flies were better than those of Cyp+Dic+S421 or Cyp+Dic+KNZ mixture and the similar product which has been selling in tile markets. It was ascertained that these mixtures were effective for fly control.
