Conservation and breeding of Korean native dog Sapsaree 1. The morphotype and growth rate of Sapsaree

Supsaree, Korean native dog, got faced with extermination-crisis of the stock because it had not been safeguarded. We collected the dogs 22 yesrs ago and have preserved their offspring nowadays. For maintaining and improving this breed of dog, general appearance, the morphotype and growth rate were studied with following results : Sapsaree with long and slightly wavy hair is medium-sized dog. The mean value of withers height of the male dog is 52.6cm, and 49.2cm in female, a proportion of height to length as 10 is to 11. Sex-characteristics is strongly marked, giving a definite impression of masculinity or feminity. The litter size is 5.2 puppies, weight of newborn puppy male is 392gm and 374gm in female, and they were grown up 17.0kg and 15.7kg respectively after 40 weeks.
