Bacterial and physiochemical survey of farm water in Kyunggido

In order to investigate the bacterial and physiochemical quality of farm water in the KYUNGGIDO, we examined Standard Plate Count(S.P.C), coliform, ph, Ca hardness, Mg hardness, iron, chrome and cholride for 202 farm water of 7 districts. The results were as follows ; 1. Of the 202 farm water, the sanitary bacteriological conditions of only 96 water (47.52%) were sufficient to animal and human. 47 farm water (23.27%) were detected coliform and 97 farm water (40.02%) were inappropriate to the Standard Plate Count. 2. The pH of 202 farm water was 6.17±0.37, Ca hardness 52.75±38.47ppm/L, Mg hardness 41.87±32.74ppm/L and cholride 28.10±22.11ppm/L. respectively. 3. Of the 202 farm water tested, 185 water (91.58%) were inappropriate to criteria for drinking water. 4. 12 water (5.94%) were inappropriate for pH, 5 water (2.84%) for Ca hardness and 4 water (1.98%)for Mg hardness, respectively. 5. Of the 202 farm water, the drinking water condition of only 92 water(45.54%) were sufficient to animal and human.
