Epidemiological Characters and Serotype of Salmonella Strains Recently Isolated form Public Health Laboratories

Out of 1,383 Salmonella strains, 36 serotypes which belonged to one of the serogroup A, B, C1, C2, C3, D1, E1, E4 and G were found. As class I communicable disease agents, 412 strains of S. typhi, 19 strains of S. paratyphi-A, 6 strains of S. paratyphi-B and 1 strain of S. paratyphi-C were isolated. Non-notifiable Salmonellosis agents were found more than 900 strains, having shown as 405 strains of S. typhimurium, 379 strains of S. enteritidis and 161 strains of other non-notifiable Salmonellosis agents. Among the Salmonella serotype strains, S. typhi, S. typhimurium and S. enteritidis were isolated in each province as the most common pathogen from the human source without much difference in age group.
