Analysis of Narcissism, Perceived Body Importance, Self-confidence in Appearance and Appearance Management Behavior in College Students

In modern society, ‘caring more for myself than others’ has become more common among young people in their 20s. They believe that how they are viewed by others is important under the current social structure. In other words, to ensure success at work, people need to highlight their excellence. The importance of self-esteem, then, is perceived as narcissism and self-display. Among young college students in their .In addition, as self-confidence in body, body importance and narcissistic tendency increased, self-confidence in appearance management and narcissistic tendency have become more important, asserting that appearance management is closely related with narcissism. Therefore, this study performed a literature review on narcissism, perceived body importance, self-confidence in appearance and appearance management behavior among young college students in their 20s and investigated narcissism and appearance management among their relationships in terms of narcissism, body importance and appearance management . This study targeted how to unveil the ways such effects differ in a male/female relationship through empirical analysis.
