A Study on Residential Satisfaction in the Urban Regeneration Region of middle Sized Cities - Focused on Jeon-ju Urban Regeneration Test Bed -

This study added urban renewal characteristic variables such as cultural revitalization, public participation, a sense of community, and public-sector support for residents in Nosong-dong, Jeon-ju to conduct a multiple regression analysis. As a result, characteristic variables such as facility satisfaction, management satisfaction, accessibility satisfaction, public participation satisfaction, and a sense of community satisfaction affected residential satisfaction of residents in TB Area. Public participation and a sense of community had the greatest effect on residential satisfaction, followed by management satisfaction, facility satisfaction, and accessibility satisfaction. The implications for future urban renewal new deal projects by the analysis results: First, there is a need to spread perception that residents take the initiative in participations by activating the structure of public oversight committees more and holding meetings more often because there was a high level of satisfaction with public participation and community revitalization. Second, it is necessary to promote public participation and community formation, to figure out facilities residents in the area want and to support it because the improvement of housing local facilities and management have a great effect on residential satisfaction. In addition, it is necessary to consider the improvement of management systems such as security. Third, with regard to cultural revitalization as an important direction of urban regeneration projects, there is a need for more active discovery of local culture and cultural development experienced by local residents. More efforts are required for active public support to spread perception that urban revitalization is implemented by local residents and public sectors altogether.
