This study was carried out to determine the causative agent of dermatophytosis occurred in 3 dogs, and to examine the skin mycofloras on 37 asymptomatic dogs in 1994. On isolated dermatophytes, morphological characteristics, urease test, hair perforation test were studied. In the cases diagnosed as dermatophytosis, the fungal elements were found in hair and skin scrapings by the direct microscopical examination. The causative agents of the 3 dermatophytosis were identified as Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and M. gypseum, respectively.
