경상도 일부 지역의 Zoophilic Dermatophytes 감염의 역학적 연구

Epidemiologic Study on Zoophilic Dermatophytes in Kyongsang Province Area

Epidemiological study was performed on zoophilic dermatophytes. The number of patients with zoophilic dermatophytes diagnosed on clinical findings and culture at Catholic Dermatological Clinic in Taegu City were 239 for 2 years from January 1993 to December 1994. Number of patients with zoophilic dermatophytes by site and age were as follows; Most patients infected in scalp were young people under 15 years. Infection in trunk(neck, chest, back) and extrernity(arm, leg, hand, foot) were relatively high in age over 15 years. The species of T. verrucosum were isolated from patients in rural areas and M. canis in urban areas. More T. men-tagrophytes were isolated in rural area than in urban area. Family infections were observed in families (23) and among which sibling, sibling and parents infections (20) were the most common. The most M. canis species were isolated from pets(dogs, cats), and M. canis was not isolated from other domestic animals. Most T. verrucosum species were isolated from cows.
