To investigate distribution of haemagglutination-inhibition (HI) titer against canine parvovirus (CPV) in sera of 22 adult SAPSAREE being raised ai the SAPSAREE dog farm in Kyung-san city and to characterize the transfer and decline of maternal antibody in SAPSAREE puppies delivered from 2 mother dogs of known HI titer, the present study was practiced. The results obtained were as follows. Distribution of HI titers against CPV in sera of 22 adult SAPSAREE tested were 4 dogs(18.0%) at HI titer 1:256, 3 dogs(13.6%) at HI titer 1:512, 6 dogs(27.0%) at HI titer 1:1,024, 9 dogs(41.0%) at HI titer ≥1:2,048, respectively. The HI titers of 3 SAPSAREE puppies delivered from a mother dog Of HI titer 1:1,024 were 1:1,024, 1:512, and 1:1,024 at 1 week old, 1:512, 1:512, and 1:512 at 2 weeks old, 1:512, 1:512, and 1:256, at 3 weeks old, 1:256, 1:256, and 1:256 at 4 weeks old, 1:128, 1:256, and 1:128 at 5 weeks old, 1:128, 1:128, and 1:128 at 6 weeks old, 1:64, 1:128, and 1:64 at 7 weeks old, 1:64, 1:64, and 1:64 at 8 weeks old. Antibody to CPV was transferred from a mother dog to her puppies through the colostrum and the amount of antibody that the puppies received was directly proportional to the HI titer of the mother dog.
