예비유아교사의 통제소재와 계획된 우연 능력이 진로에 대한 확신에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

A study on the influence of pre-service early childhood teachers’ locus of control and planned happenstance skills on job confidence

본 연구의 목적은 인구학적 변인, 통제소재, 계획된 우연 능력이 예비유아교사의 진로에 대한 확신에 영향을 주는지 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 464명의 유아교육전공 대학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 기술분석, 상관분석, 위계적 회 귀분석을 통하여 자료를 분석하였다. 진로에 대한 확신은 학년, 직업우선순위, 전공선택에 따라 상이하였다. 우선, 학년이 높을수록, 직업우선순위로서의 유아교사를 선택하.5였을수록, 자신의 결정에 따른 전공선택이었을수록 진로에 대한 확신이 높았다. 또한, 계획된 우연 능력이 높을수록, 그리고 내적통제가 높을수록 진로에 대한 확신이 높았으며, 타인통제 및 우연통제가 높을수록 진로에 대한 확신이 낮았다. 마지막으로, 자신의 결정에 따른 전공 선택, 직업우선순위로서의 유아교사 선택, 상급학년, 인내력, 낙관성은 진로에 대한 높은 확신을 예측하였으나 유연성, 위험감수성은 진로에 대한 낮은 확신을 예측하였다. 통제소재와 계획된 우연 능력은 진로에 대한 확신을 예측하는 데 있어, 자신의 결정에 따른 전공 선택, 직업우선순위, 학년이 가지는 설명력 그 이상의 예측력을 가진 의미있는 변인이었다.

This study examined how the demographics, the locus of control, and planned happenstance skills influenced the job confidence of pre-service early childhood teachers. Hierarchical regression, as well as correlation and descriptive analyses was conducted with a sample of 464 female college students in Korea. Job confidence was differed by grade level, job priority, and decision on the major. Students with high level of job confidence appeared to be more in senior students and tended to consider early childhood teachers as their job priorities and to choose the major by themselves. The higher planned happenstance skills and the higher internal locus of control, the lower external locus of control the students had. Moreover, among the subscales of planned happenstance skills, persistence and optimism predicted a high level of job confidence whereas flexibility and risk-taking predicted a low level of job confidence. Planned happenstance skills explained the job confidence above and beyond the decision on major, the job priority, and the grade level. The study identified the locus of control and planned happenstance skills as the individual characteristics impacting on the job confidence and provided basic data for career counseling environment that can enhance various backgrounds and experiences of college students.
