한-유라시아경제연합(EAEU) FTA의 주요 쟁점과 추진 전략

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the economic effect on the necessity of the Korea-EAEU FTA and to present a comprehensive and systematic implementation strategy of Korea by presenting major trade issues. In order for Korea, the world’s largest FTA, to strengthen its status as a leading trading nation, an FTA with the EAEU is essential. The Eurasia region, which is a report of resources such as energy and nonferrous metals, has the highest complementary effect with the Korean economy. Korea is expected to be able to produce a relatively large amount of industrial production, mainly for automobiles and other transportation equipment, despite the relative decrease in production in the mining, textile, and electronics industries through the FTA with EAEU. EAEU coutries, on the other hand, will benefit from the FTA by increasing industrial production centered on the mining and textile industries. Korea needs to face investment and non-tariff barriers in order to expand its investment in EAEU countries and to create alternatives accordingly. The biggest investment barrier in the EAEU country is corruption, which requires measures to address the time delays and complicated litigation. In addition, it should also actively review issues such as dispute resolution mechanisms, vulnerability of minority shareholders’ rights, and compliance with accounting standards in accordance with international standards of all enterprises and banks.
