Семантика уступки в корейском языке

The paper aims at giving an overview of the concession semantics in Korean language and analyzing the meanings of concessive affixes each of which have specific linguistic maintenance. Distinctive feature of concession in Korean language lies at the status of proposition. There are two types of proposition: “real” and “unreal”. Real proposition type means fact proposition or such one that considered by the speaker as real fact. Hypothetical proposition type means possible situations of future and impossible situations as well. According to the proposition status all affixes can be divided on two large groups. There are only one basic affix -adeo with basic concession meaning of “disappointed expectation” when the semantic discrepancy between the situations in the main clause and expectations of the speaker are take place. We suppose that speaker’s relation to the situations and his evaluation of that situations is crucial for defining the semantic of concessive relations. So concessive semantics includes an organic combination of several meanings, such as “probability” (= potentiality, possibility / impossibility), “desirability / undesirability” and “degree of situation’s realization”. Different combinations of these meanings determine both the synonymy of the affixes and although their specificity.
