『재조번방지』의 사학사적 고찰

A Historiographical study of Jaejobeonbangji

이제까지 壬辰倭亂의 展開와 性格, 戰爭 以後의 政局 變動에 대한 연구는 어느 정도 진행되었다. 그런데 임진왜란의 實狀을 수록하고 있는 官撰 實錄과 私撰 野史에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 소홀하다. 본고에서는 선행 연구가 거의 없는 사찬 야사『재조번방지』의 史學史的 意味를 분석하였다. 『재조번방지』는 임진왜란을 연구하는데 가장 중요한 原典 資料의 하나이다. 국가의 危機 狀況을 극복하기 위한 現實認識과 현재의 국가적 위기를 역사적 과제로 인식하고 해결하고자 하는 歷史意識이 반영되어 있다. 이와 함께 국가 차원에서 임진왜란을 정리한 『선조실록』과 『선조수정실록』을 補完할 수 있다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있다. 當代人이 當代史를 정리했다는 사실과 본문의 내용을 통해 忠君과 愛國을 강조하려는 의도 역시 주목된다. 또한 조선 중기 崇明思想의 정립에 영향을 끼쳤다는 사실에서도 의미를 찾을 수 있다.

So far, the study on the development and the nature of Japanese Invasion of Choson in 1592 as well as the post-war political dynamics has been studied in sufficient amount. However, there has not been much research on the government compilation sillok and private compilation yasa(an official history) which details the actuality of Japanese Invasion of Choson in 1592. In current study, private compilation Jaejobeonbangji has been looked at and analyzed for literary historical meaning as it lacks any significant prior study on the subject. Jaejobeonbangji can be regarded as one of the most important pieces of original text on studying Japanese Invasion of Choson in 1592 as it reflects reality awareness on how to overcome the current national crisis as well as historical awareness where the crisis is recognized as historical task and attempts are made to solve the current affair. In addition, Jaejobeonbangji holds considerable meaning because it compliments sunjosillok and sunjosujeongsillok in which Japanese Invasion of Choson in 1592 has been recorded on the national level. It should be also noted that the record is chronicled by contemporaries and the fact that content of the text attempts to emphasize loyalty and patriotism. Lastly, Jaejobeonbangji holds significant historical importance since it appears to made significant influence on the establishment of worship of Myung(明) in the middle of chosun dynasty.
