유아교사의 구강건강지식 및 구강관리실천이 유아의 구강건강지도에 미치는 영향

Influence of the Oral Health Knowledge and Oral Care Practice on Oral Health Guidance for Preschoolers in Early Childhood Teachers

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사의 구강건강지식 및 구강관리실천이 유아 구강건강지 도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 이를 통해 유아의 구강건강지도에 도움이 될 수 있는 유아교사의 구강건강 교육을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 부산ㆍ 경남지역에 소재한 어린이집의 만 3∼5세반을 담당하고 있는 유아교사 216명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 유아교사의 구강건강지식은 보통 수준으로 나타났고 교사의 배경변인 중 연령과 근무기관유형, 근무경력에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 유아교사의 구강관리실천은 보통수준으로 나타났으며 근무기관 유형과 담당학급 연령에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 유아교사의 구강건강지도는 비교적 높은 수준으로 나타났으며, 근무경력과 구강건강교육이수경험에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 구강건강지식과 구강관리실천 및 구강건강지도 간에 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아교사의 구강건강지식과 구강 관리실천이 유아의 구강건강지도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유아를 위한 올바른 구강건강지도를 위해 유아교사의 구강건강지식과 바른 구강관리실천 향상을 위한 구강건강 관련 교사교육이 필요함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine pervasive trends in the oral health knowledge and oral care practice of early childhood teachers and their oral health guidance for young children, any possible differences in those regards according to their background variables and the impact of their oral health knowledge and oral health care on oral health guidance for preschoolers. A survey was conducted on 216 selected early childhood teachers in daycare centers in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the oral health knowledge of the early childhood teachers was at an average level, and there were significant differences according to age, the type of institution they worked for and career among background variables. Their practice of oral care was at an average level as well, and there were significant differences according to the type of institution and the age of the class in charge. The oral health guidance of the early childhood teachers was at a relatively high level, and there were significant differences according to career and experience of receiving oral health education. Second, the oral health knowledge and oral care practice of the early childhood teachers were positively correlated with oral health guidance, and oral health knowledge and oral care practice exercised a significant influence on oral health guidance. The findings of the study suggest that in order to provide proper oral health guidance, teacher education is necessary to help early childhood teachers to have better oral health knowledge and practice oral care in the right way
