With regard to the THAAD issue, South Korea recognizes China’s position and concerns regarding the Sad issue and clarifies that the THAAD deployed in South Korea is not aimed at third countries and does not harm China’s strategic security interests, To oppose the Sad system deployed in Korea in order to defend the security of Korea. Due to such a sad arrangement, the conflict with China gradually became serious and spread to Korean boycott movement. This study examines the effects of Korean THAAD placement on changes in Korean national image and purchasing power of Korean products as well as the effects of hostile national image according to Chinese ethnocentrism during THAAD deployment period. This study examines the effects of Korean products on export competitiveness. In conclusion, THAAD placement generally has a negative impact on Korea’s national image, socio-economic image, and Korean product image. Also, in terms of satisfaction with Korean products, it shows bad satisfaction with emotional image, but product satisfaction with other factors has a positive effect. In addition, Chinese consumers have a positive effect on the repurchase intention in terms of repurchase intention due to the placement of THAAD in Korea and have a negative effect on repurchase intention.
