The purpose of this study is to investigate the frequency of personal pronouns in the collected data from TED Talks which are videos from expert speakers on various areas with subtitles, and to explore the possibilities of the TED Talks as a personal pronoun learning material in English education. In the analyzed data, the personal pronouns accounted for 11% of all tokens(38,583/ 362,123). Of all the 31 types of personal pronouns, 8 personal pronouns represent 80% of the frequency. In addition, when TED Talks were classified into and analyzed in two features such as Studies and Most Viewed, the frequency of personal pronouns was different from that of the whole TED Talks. This suggests that although TED Talks are a good resource for learning the cohesion of a text and the pragmatic nature of discourse, teachers should first grasp the attributes of each talk and then provide appropriate materials based on the goal of a lesson.
