This work aims to find out the relationship between Korean, Chinese and English. Especially, I focus on the parameter-setting model by Chomsky and Cumulative Enhancement Model(CEM) by Flynn, Foley and Vinnitskaya(2004). Flynn et al.(2004) argued that the L1 does not play a privileged role in subsequent acquisition and language acquisition is accumulative, therefore the prior language can be neutral or enhance subsequent language acquisition. In this study, RRCs were addressed for four sentence types: Subject RCs, Possessive RCs, Direct Object RCs, and Object RCs with Prepositions. Participants are the Foreign-born Youth accompanied by their mothers from China. Their first language (L1) is Chinese and second language (L2) is Korean and third language (L3) is English. Relative clause consists of head and complement. Chinese, Korean and English differ in head direction in RCs. The results show that the Foreign-born Youth students had difficulty learning English relative clauses as an L3.
