An Abdutive Approach on Non-Profit-Organization Management in 21st Century

Purpose - The present study aims to explore the understanding and perception of the idea of nonprofit organizations that cannot be overlooked, before the social aspects of companies, commerce, society, and companies. Research design, data, and methodology - Considering the specificity of non-profit organization , classify the difference among social members according to individual characteristics from the diagnosis for the recognition and understating of non-profit organization management analyzed by the Q methodology. This study provides the typology of the perception toward non-profit organization management using Q methodology that is a qualitative research method. We selected 32 samples of P samples to be responded to to what extent they perceived the statements related to the operation of 32 nonprofit organizations selected. In particular, the P sample in this study was selected from a total of 32 subjects, including 25 persons who are directly involved in non-profit organization management and 7 persons who are not related to non-profit organization management. Results - The analysis defined the five types. <Type 1>, named <Ethical Management Premise Type>, emphasize the most the organization based on ethical management in non-profit organizational management. The <Type 2> highlights the two propositions: ‘non-profit organization should prioritize the realization of unique value’ and ‘it should guarantee the transparency in operational management’. In case of <Type 3>, it is <Leadership Emphasis Type> due to the emphasis on the importance of manager’s leadership. <Type 4> is <transparence emphasis Type> with the emphasis of two main statements: ‘transparency in organizational management should be premised’ and ‘Financial information should be provided transparently’. Since the <Type 5> has emphasized that the objectives of management and policies should be established certainly, it is named <Establishing Operational Objectives Type>. Conclusions - This study provides the typology of the perception toward non-profit organization management using Q methodology that is a qualitative research method. The qualitative research is a methodology that is more than a research method analyzing with a hermeneutical perspective based on the essential attribution and investigation of a phenomenon. Moreover, further investigation is expected to expand into the empirical research verifying hypothesis for the completeness of research.
