회복기 마약중독자의 직업 활동 경험에 관한 연구

A Study on Experience of Occupational Activity of the Recovering Drug Addict

이 연구는 마약중독 회복자가 중독과 회복 과정에서 체험하게 되는 직업 활동의 의미를 총체적으로 이해하기 위해, 현상학적 사례연구 방법을 활용하였다. 이를 위해 4명의 연구 참여자를 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행 하고, 사례 별로 분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과 중독 과정에서의 직업 활동 경험 경우, 참여자 1은 ‘폼 잡는 일’, 참여자 2는 ‘수중의 돈과 마약의 위험한 유착‘, 참여자 3은 ’쉽게 벌어 흥청망청 쓰는 일’, 참여자 4는 ‘돈 욕심내는 일에서, 의존된 삶으로’란 본질적 의미가 도출 되었다. 그리고 회복 과정에서의 직업 활동 경험의 경우, 참여자 1은 ‘밑바닥에서 다시 시작하기’, ‘회복 동반 자의 길’, 참여자 2는 ‘일반 사람들처럼 사는 것이 회복의 길’, ‘속죄 의식’, 참여자 3은 ‘새 출발을 위한 진통’, 참여자 4는 ‘자립을 향한 항해의 시작’이란 본질적 의미로 주제화 되었다. 이를 바탕으로 이 연구는 회복 과정에 있는 마약 중독자들의 직업 재활을 위해 시사 받을수 있는 논의 점과 개입 방안을 제언하였다.

This study utilized a method of phenomenological case study for the general understanding of in-depth meaning of occupational activities experienced in the process of addiction and the recovery of drug addicts. Therefore, four study participants were interviewed in depth and analysis was performed by case. For occupational activities in the process of addiction, the following essential meanings were derived in the analysis: ‘bragging’ for participant 1, ‘dangerous affinity of the money in hand and drugs” for participant 2, ‘easy money and waste of money’ for participant 3, and ‘from a greedy life to becoming dependent’ for participant 4. For occupational activities in the process of recovery, the following essential meanings were presented as themes: ‘starting from the bottom’, ‘being a recovery partner’ for participant 1, ‘living an ordinary life is the way to recovery’, ‘atonement’ for participant 2, ‘pain of a new start’ for participant 3, and ‘start of a voyage to independence’. Based on these, discussions and interventions suggested for occupational rehabilitation of drug addicts who are in the process of recovery, are proposed in this study.
