다자이 오사무(太宰治) 『불꽃(花火)』과 카프카 『변신』과의 비교연구

A Comparative Study on Flame by Dazai Osamu and Die Verwandlung by F. Kafka

太宰がカフカの􋺷変身􋺸の影響を受け、􋺷花火􋺷を創作した可能性について伝記的事実との接点を作品の比較分析を通して探ってみた。 一つ目は、カフカとの傳記的事實の親密性と接点である。太宰とカフカ の成長環境と、追及する文学的特徴が非常に類似した伝記的事実を調べた。 また、􋺷変身􋺷の接点として直接的な読書体験と間接的にカフカに精通するドイツ文学者の芳賀檀と高橋幸雄によって伝えられたという点を検討した。 二つ目は、人物と事件の関連様相である。二つの作品の家族構成と葛藤が、類似した構造の中に描かれている。勝次の｢恐るべき家庭破壊者｣への変身は、グレゴールの虫と類似したものとして読み取れる。したがって、二つの作品は｢家族の中の孤立｣という同じ型でコミュニケーションがはかれないという点が内在している。その中でも特に、親子関係の葛藤を中心 として起こる点について調べてみた。 三つ目は、疎外問題と死である。太宰は心理的․行動的に退行している主人公勝次を登場させ、家族と友人らに疎外される過程を描き出している。その過程で、家族と他者の関係から実存的エゴと日常的エゴの狭間から回復することができない挫折意識と疎外感を確認することができる。一方で、二人の主人公の死が現実的な疎外状態の克服、他の人生への生まれ 変わり、すなわち自らの魂の救済の手段として、自身の意志により死を受け入れているという点を類似性として比較、検討した。

In this article, we explore a possibility that Dazai’s writing of Flame was affected by Die Verwandlung by F. Kafka. Firstly, we point out intimacies and affinities with F. Kafka’s work in terms of biographical facts. Our analysis concerns biographical facts which represent close similarities between the two figures in terms of their living environment and characteristics of their literary works. Furthermore, we also consider direct reading experiences as a point of affinity with Die Verwandlung as well as the fact that the work was introduced by the scholars of the German literature, Mayumi Haga and Yukio Takahashi. The second notable point is concerned with aspects of the relation between the figures and the incidents. The structure of a family and concerns of the family members are reflected in the similar structure of the two literary works. Katsuji’s transformation into a “horrible destroyer of family” can be connected with Gregor’s transformation into an insect. Therefore, inherent to the two works is lack of proper communication in “isolation from family.” In particular, our focus is put on family conflicts. Finally, the issues of estrangement and death are also noteworthy. Dazai introduces the main character, Katsuji, who regresses both mentally and behaviorally, describing the process whereby he is estranged from his family and friends. During this process, we observe, the senses of frustration and estrangement emerge; Katsuji cannot overcome the gap between the existential “ego” and the everyday “ego.” On the other hand, we argue that the two literary works show a point of similarity in that the main character in each work accepts death by regarding it as a means of overcoming the existential state of estrangement, or a means of salvaging the spirit of the character through reincarnation.
