유아 어머니의 결혼만족도와 자녀 정신건강 간의 관계에서 어머니 정신건강(불안, 우울, 충동성, 공격성)의 다중매개효과

Multiple Mediating Effects of the Mental Health(Depression, Anxiety, Impulsiveness and Aggressiveness) of Mothers with Preschoolers on the Relationship between Their Marital Satisfaction and Their Children s Mental Health

본 연구는 어머니의 결혼만족도와 자녀 정신건강 간의 관계에서 어머니 정신건강(불안, 우울, 충동성, 공격성)의 다중매개효과를 살펴봄으로써, 유아의 정신건강을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 연구대상은 부산광역시에 소재하고 있는 유치원과 어린이집에 재원중인 유아와 어머니 293쌍을 대상으로 어머니의 결혼만족도, 어머니 정신건강, 그리고 유아 정신건강 척도를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니 결혼만족도는 어머니의 정신 건강 변인인 불안, 우울, 충동성, 공격성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 결혼만족도가 높을수록 불안, 우울, 충동성, 공격성이 낮아졌다. 둘째, 어머니의 우울, 충동성, 공격성은 자녀 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 어머니의 우울, 충동성, 공격성이 높을수록 자녀 정신건강도 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 다중매개효과 검정에서 어머니 결혼만족도와 자녀 정신건강 간의 관계에서 어머니의 우울 및 공격성은 완전매개효과를 나타냈다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the multiple mediating effects of the mental health(depression, anxiety, impulsiveness and aggressiveness) of mothers on the relationship between their marital satisfaction and their children s mental health in an effort to provide some information on the mental health of preschoolers. The subjects in this study were 293 pairs of young children and their mothers in kindergartens and daycare centers located in the city of Busan. Scales for the marital satisfaction of mothers, for the mental health of mothers and for the mental health of preschoolers were used to gather data. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, the marital satisfaction of the mothers was found to have affected their depression, anxiety, impulsiveness and aggressiveness that were the variables of mental health. In other words, higher marital satisfaction led to lower depression, lower anxiety, lower impulsiveness and lower aggressiveness. Second, the depression, impulsiveness and aggressiveness of the mothers were found to have influenced the mental health of the children. Namely, the children were in better mental health when there were more depression, more impulsiveness and more aggressiveness in their mothers. Third, when the multiple mediating effects of the variables were verified, the depression and aggressiveness of the mothers were found to have had perfect mediating effects on the relationship between their marital satisfaction and their children s mental health.
