체육실기 수업에서 여자 초등예비교사의 경쟁 활동에 관한 인식과 실천 탐색

Exploration of Cognition and Practice Related to Competition Activities of Female Pre-serve Elementary Teachers in P. E.. Practical Classes

이 연구의 목적은 여자 초등예비교사가 체육실기 수업에서 경쟁 활동을 수행하는 학습 과정을 통해 일어나는 인식과 실천의 변화를 살펴보고, 그 경험의 의미를 탐색하는 것이다. 이 연구는 4명의 초등교육 전공자를 선정하여 15주 동안의 주요 사례를 심층 면담 하였고, 면담과 에세이를 중심으로 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구결과, 4명의 참여자는 체육 수업에서 경쟁 활동을 ‘공에 대한 두려움 혹은 창피함’, ‘헤게모니 중심, 남자 실력자 중심’ 등으로 인식하고 있었다. 참여자들은 경쟁 활동 실천을 통해 ‘누군간 하겠지’, ‘협동과 경쟁 사이’ 등의 경기 수행 상황에서 역할에 대한 부담을 경험하였다. 반면, 참여자들은 ‘단계별 경기 규칙 변화에서 오는 경기 몰입’, ‘혼성 수업에서 게임 유형별 경기 전략 수행의 즐거움’ 등 경기 수행에서의 몰입과 즐거움을 드러냈다. 이 과정에서 참여자들은 ‘학습자의 수준을 고려한 이해중심 게임 탐색’, ‘양성의 평등한 참여를 통한 경기 전략 이해’ 등 초등예비교사로서 경기 수행에 관한 통합적 학습 활동을 추구하였다. 또한, 참여자들은 ‘경쟁의 의미 재탐색’, ‘여자 초등 체육교육에 관한 실천적 지혜의 형성’ 등 여자 초등예비교사로서 경쟁 활동에 관한 교육적 가치를 재탐색하는 경험의 의미를 드러냈다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the changes in the cognition and the practice occurring during the female pre-serve elementary teachers’ learning process related to performing competition activities in P. E. practical classes and to explore the meaning of such experiences. After selecting four majors in elementary education, in-depth interviews about 15 prime examples were conducted, and the data was collected and analyzed focusing on the interviews and the essays. According to the result, the four participants considered competition activities in P. E. class as ‘a fear of balls or embarrassment’, ‘hegemony-oriented, skilled-male-oriented’ and etc. They felt pressure to play their roles in competition situations like ‘somebody would do that’, or ‘between cooperation and competition’. Meanwhile, they showed their immersion and pleasure such as ‘immersion in activities by the change in activity rules by level’ and ‘pleasure in performing activity strategies by type of activity in mixed-gender class’ in the activities. In this process, the participants pursued integrated learning activities related to performing activities as a pre-serve elementary teacher such as ‘exploration of understanding-oriented games considering the learner’s level’ and ‘understanding of activity strategies through the participation based on gender equality’. In addition, they exposed the meaning of re-searching the educational value of competition activities including ‘re-search of the meaning of competition’ and ‘formation of practical wisdom related to female elementary P. E. education’ as a female pre-serve elementary teacher.
