2015 개정 교육과정의 핵심역량 함양을 위한 초․중학교 교육과정 설계 방안 탐색

A Study of Organizing the Elementary and Middle School Curriculum for Cultivating Key Competencies of the 2015 Revised Curriculum

본 연구의 목적은 핵심역량 교육과정 설계 경험이 있는 교사 대상 심층 면담을 통하여 2015 개정 교육과정의 핵심역량을 함양하기 위한 학교 교육과정 설계 방안을 제시하는 데에 있다. 본 연구는 역량함양 교육과정 운영 경험이 있는 전국 8개 시도의 10개 초등학교 및 중학교 소속 20명의 교사를 대상으로 2017년 6월～7월 심층면담을 실시하여 핵심역량 함양을 위한 학교 교육과정 설계의 방향 및 원리, 교육과정 재구성, 학교 교육과정 설계 절차 등에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구는 핵심역량 함양을 위한 학교 교육과정 설계의 방향으로서 ‘배움과 삶의 연계’를, 학교 교육과정 설계의 원리로서 ‘삶과 연계된 주제중심 교육과정 재구성’, ‘학생의 참여 수업 및 협력학습’, ‘과정 중심의 수행평가’, ‘학교 구성원 간 협력’을 제시하는 한편, 핵심역량 함양을 위한 교육과정 재구성 모형 및 설계 절차를 제시하였다. 마지막으로 핵심역량 함양을 위한 학교 교육과정 설계 방안이 적용되기 위한 지원 방안을 제안하였다.

This study proposes various school curriculum design models to develop the key competencies of the 2015 revised curriculum in such a way that elementary and middle schools can design their own curriculum to foster key competencies appropriate to the school context. On the basis of the in-depth interviews with teachers, the followings were drawn with regard to the design of school curriculum insofar as it must enhance key competencies. The focus of enhancing key competencies is on linking learning to real life. Building upon this insight, the researchers established four general principles to guide school curriculum design: (1) ‘Reconstruction of subject-oriented curriculum linked with real life’ for the curriculum design, (2) ‘Student participatory teaching and cooperative learning’ for teaching and learning, (3) ‘Process-oriented performance assessment’ for assessment, and (4) ‘Cooperation between school members’ for school culture. Finally, as policies for the effective design of the school curriculum for enhancing key competencies of the 2015 revised curriculum, this study proposes plans for creating a cooperative school culture and supporting teachers’ curriculum reconstruction.
