발달장애 청년의 고용 및 고용유지에 기여하는 요인에 대한 질적 연구

A Qualitative Study on the Contributing Factors for Gaining and Maintaining Employment of Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities

본 연구는 발달장애 청년의 고용 및 고용유지에 기여하는 요인이 무엇인지 알아보고 발달장애 청년의 고용을 위해 어떤 노력이 이루어져야 할지에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 경기도 내 5개 진로직업특수교육지원센터 특수교사 및 전담강사 9명 및 발달장애 청년 9명을 포함한 총 18명을 대상으로 개별 심층면담을 실시하고 이를 전사한 후 질적 내용 분석방법을 통해 면담자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 개인적 요인, 직장환경 요인, 지원체계 요인, 미래과제의 4가지 대주제와 10개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 발달장애 청년의 고용 및 고용 유지를 위한 실제와 후속 연구를 위한 시사점이 논의되었다. 본 연구는 1년 이상 고용을 유지하고 있는 발달장애 청년의 경험과 장애학생의 고용을 전담하는 진로직업특수교육지원센터 교사들의 견해를 통해 발달장애 청년의 고용 및 고용유지에 기여하는 요인에 대한 다면적 관점을 제시하였다는데 그 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the contributing factors for gaining and maintaining employment of young adults with developmental disabilities and to suggest ways to facilitate their employment. In-depth individual interviews were carried out with nine employees with developmental disabilities and nine teachers from the centers for career and employment in Kyung-gi-do. Qualitative content analyses were used to analyze the collected data. Four main themes and 10 sub-themes emerged from the analyses. The four main themes were individual factors, workplace factors, support system factors, and future challenges. Finally, discussions of the results and their implications, limitations of the study, and suggestions for future studies were presented. This study is significant in that it showed multiple perspectives on gaining and maintaining employment through the views from young adults with developmental disabilities themselves and the teachers who support their employment.
