인문 독서 교육을 통한 인성교육 연구

Study on the Character Education through Humanities Reading Education

본 논문은 인문 독서 교육을 통하여 인성을 갖춘 품격 있는 인재로 키우기 위한 독서 교육에 관한 것이다. 인간의 삶과 역사, 문화, 가치를 다루는 인문학은 사람의 됨됨이, 인격, 성격, 행동습관, 태도, 가치관 등을 바람직하게 형성하기에 좋은 기제가 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 우선, 인문 독서 교육을 통하여 인성을 함양하고자 한 그 간의 연구를 살펴보았다. 그리고 인문 독서 교육과 인성 교육에 대하여 깊이 있게 들여다보았으며, 연구자 가진행한 인성함양을 위한 독서라는 교과목을 예로 그 방법과 결과에 대하여 제시하였다. 예로 든 교과는 인문 독서 교육을 통하여 학생 개개인이 자아탐구의 계기를 갖고, 인간의 도덕적 품성, 참 가치, 공동체를 위한 책임의식, 타인에 대한 이해, 사회의식 함양을 목표로 한다. 독서 교육 방법은 학생들이 독서를 통해 수렴적 사고와 발산적 사고를 거쳐 주제에 접근하여 다른 학습자들과 상호작용을 하며 새로운 지평을 찾아낼 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 교육의 결과는 2017-2학기에 실시한 설문 조사를 분석하였으며 70%의 학생들이 이 교과에 대하여 만족하는 것으로 드러났다. 또한 주관식 설문을 통해서 알아본 결과 학생들은 독서에 대하여 흥미를 갖게 되었고, 자신에 대한 성찰을 하게 되었으며, 사고의 폭이 넓어지고 스스로 성장하였다고 답하였음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 소수의 학생들을 대상으로 한 결과이므로 효과에 대하여 논하기에는 부족함이 있음을 밝힌다.

This thesis is about reading education for nurturing the elegant talents who possess the character through humanities reading education. Humanities which deal with the life, history, culture and value of humans can be a good mechanism in forming the nature, character, personality, behavioral habits, attitude, and values desirably. In this thesis, the previous studies which have tried to build up the character through humanities reading education in universities were examined. In addition, humanities reading education and character education were deeply examined, and the methods and effect of the course, reading for the cultivation of character, which this researcher proceeded were suggested. The course is aimed for individual students to have an opportunity of self-exploration through humanities reading education, and build up the moral character of humans, true value, responsibility for community, the understanding of others, and social consciousness. For reading education method, it was designed for students to approach the theme through convergent thinking and divergent thinking with reading, and find a new horizon as they interact with other learners. As a result, it was revealed that 70% of students were satisfied with the course. In addition, as a result of the subjective survey, it was indicated that they got interested in reading, came to reflect themselves, enlarged the width of thought and grew themselves. However, as a few students feel uncomfortable about reading and discussion, the constant studies on that remain a challenge.
