With the Internet boom in 1994, many organizations, universities and governments have exploited the Internet to deliver educational and training programmes as they see some limitations in the usual face-to-face classroom environment. In Singapore, the early adopters are the polytechnics and the universities. However, corporate bodies need a gentle push. In 2002, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore initiated the eLearning Early Adopters’ Programme (eLEAP). This programme was to encourage local companies to start using eLearning for flexible staff training flexible. Firstly, this paper discusses the eLEAP details, giving the background, objectives, time frame, funding, and qualifying criteria for participating companies. Secondly, the author will share his experiences when he evaluated the e-learning courseware from participating companies.
