협업능력 및 사고력 개발을 위한 기숙형 대학 비교과 프로그램 효과 탐색

A Case Study on RC Co-educational Programs for Collaboration and Thinking Skill Development

최근 대학들은 4차산업시대형 인재 양성을 위해 Residential College(RC) 비교과 프로그램을 도입하고 학업은 물론 봉사활동과 공동체 함양, 다양한 문화체험 등 다양한 공동체 기회를 제공해왔다. 그러나 아직까지 RC 비교과 프로그램의 효과적인 운영 방안에 관한 연구는 매우 제한적이였다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 대학 RC 비교과 프로그램의 운영 사례를 살펴보고, RC의 효과적 운영방안을 위한 비교과 프로그램의 함의를 도출하고자한다. 본 연구에서 살펴본 RC 프로그램은 수도권 한 대학비교과 모토인 Life Story Design(LSD) 지원을 위한 LSD Exploration 공동체 프로그램 및 Thinking Vision Design 캠프로 구성되었다. LSD Exploration 프로그램은 지역문제 발굴해 해결하거나 전공 관련 기업체를 방문하는 등의 공동체 활동을 통해 자신의 미래 삶 설계를 위한 다양한 체험 기반 활동으로 이 프로젝트는 협업능력은 물론 학생 자신의 대학 생활 설계 및 진로 영향 설정에 긍정적 효과를 준 것으로 나타났다. Thinking Vision Design 캠프는 4차 산업혁명시대에 필요한 협업능력 및 문제해결능력을 배양할 수 있는 매우 효과적인 기회를 참여자들에게 제공한 것으로 보인다. 하지만, 운영 일정 조정 필요, 홍보 강화, 학생 관심도 및 참여도 다소 저조등과 같은 문제점들 또한 도출 되었다.

In the era of 4th Industrial Revolution, universities have made a huge effort to foster well-rounded individuals by offering RC co-educational programs such as community services, culture-experience activities and hands-on learning. Through these programs students have the opportunity to participate in community activities and schools have the momentum to grow into a ideal liberal arts college. However, due to lack of research, little have been known how to manage the RC programs and improve their effects. Therefore, this study explores the effective management schemes of RC extra-curriculum programs by looking into the RC programs of a college. To assist to RC students to accomplish the aim of college co-educational curriculum “Life Story Design(LSD)”, it provided two RC programs “LSD Exploration community” & “Thinking Vision Design Camp.” The effect was rated by participant satisfaction survey. We found that the LSD Exploration Community program had a positive influence on students’ college life and career design, and the Thinking Vision Design camp led to collaboration, creativity and problem-solving skills. We also found several problems such as students’ low interest and participation and misarranged schedules. This study is significant in that universities can utilize the cases for development and management of RC programs that best suit their school motto.
