  • 180

The purpose of this study is to re-organize the components of job competency for aestheticians based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) and SERVQUAL model and to compare the level between the NCS completed group and non-completed group using a t-test and Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA). The results of study were as follows. First, the job competencies of aestheticians were composed of three factors such as expertise including professional attitude, professional knowledge, procedural technique, and skillfulness, reliability and communication including understanding and consideration. Second, according to the t-test result, a professional attitude, procedural technique, reliability, and understanding showed that there were significant mean differences. In addition, the mean value of the non-completed group was higher compared to the completed group. Third, the results of the IPA showed that reliability was a common factor of both groups. which was included in Quadrant Ⅰ(keep up the good work). Moreover, in the NCS completed group, factors on the side of interaction were mainly distributed in Quadrant Ⅰ and Ⅱ, whereas in the non-completed group, factors related to technological capabilities were mainly distributed in both sections. These results can be provided as various information resources for practitioners in order to make the appropriate decisions.
