죽산 박형룡의 과학관에 근거한 현대 과학주의 비평과 종합

The Criticism and Integration for the Modern Scientism Based on the View of Science of Jooksan, Hyung-Nong Park.

과학주의는 과학이 자연현상은 물론 세상의 모든 진리를 밝혀 줄 수 있는 유일한 수단이라고 믿는 종교적인 신념의 일종이다. 환원적 물질주의에 철학적 기초를 두고 있는 과학주의의 이러한 태도는 현대 기독교에 심각한 위협이된다. 그럼에도 불구하고 아직까지 국내 보수신학계에서는 과학주의에 대한균형 잡힌 신학적 분석과 비평이 충분하지 않았다. 본 논문은 과학주의가 기독교 신앙에 도전하는 것들이 무엇인지를 살펴보고, 한국 개혁신학의 거목인 박형룡 박사의 과학관을 통해서 현대 과학주의를 비평하고 그 문제점을 분석한 것이다. 이에 따르면, 현대 과학주의는 기독교적 유신론과 양립할 수 없는 무신론적 세계관을 통해서 기독교적 세계관에 혼란을 주게 된다. 과학주의는 기독교가 인류에게 줄 수 있는 보편적이며 긍정적인 영향력을 상쇄시키며, 더 나아가 과학주의는 기독교가 가지고 있는 인간에 대한 보편적인 존엄성을 손상시킴으로서 인류 전체에 해악을 가져올 수 있다. 요컨대, 박형룡 박사의 과학관에 근거한 개혁주의적 관점에서 볼 때 과학주의는 기독교적 세계관과 양 립할 수 없으며, 더 나아가 인류의 보편적인 가치와도 상치하는 사상이라고 할 수 있다.

Scientism is a kind of religious belief that science is the only way to enlighten the real truth in all of things in the world as well as the natural phenomena. This ideology of scientism, which puts the reductive materialism as a philosophical foundation, becomes a serious menace to the present christianity. For all that, the balanced theological analysis and criticism about scientism in the domestic conservative theology is still very poor. Therefore, this article aims to analyze various issues that scientism can threaten the christian faith. Based on this analysis, scientism is illuminated and criticized from a reformed theological standpoint. For this purpose, I have analyzed the research of Dr. Hyung-Nong Park who is a gigantic tree of the reformed theology in Korea. According to this analysis, the modern scientism will cause the serious confusion to the christian worldview through its atheistic worldview which can not be compatible with christian theism. Scientism decreases the universal and affirmative influence of christianity to the human beings. In addition, scientism can give a deleterious effect to whole humans as impairing the universal dignity of the human beings guaranteed by the christianity. Briefly, in viewpoint of the reformed theology based on the view of science of Dr. Hyung-Nong Park, scientism can be incompatible with the christian worldview and is further in conflict with the universal value of the human beings.
