This study was conducted to present biological grounds as quantitative criteria by collecting causative organisms of periodontal diseases. A comparative analysis was conducted after implementing periodontal management based on a dental hygiene process. A further goal was to understand the role of oral health professionals for preventing periodontal diseases. 26 persons who visited the Clinical Dental Hygienist Lab of D. University from September 28, 2017 through November 30, 2017, were final research subjects. This study obtained the following conclusions by analyzing oral microorganisms through real-time PCR by dental examination and oral collection (tooth surface and gingival crevicular fluid). As a result of a comprehensive analy-sis of the results of this study, bacteria in the tooth surface and the gingival sulcus tended to decrease according to oral health knowledge, oral health practice, and verbal oral health literacy by implementation of periodontal management. Thus, it is judged that it is necessary to check the effect of the implementation of periodontal management based on the dental hygiene proc-ess with patients who have periodontal diseases, and at the same time to conduct an evi-dence-based self-directed performance in the process of dental hygiene management in order to solve the subjects’ oral health problems. In addition, it is judged that it is crucial to the needs and importance of ongoing management for patients with periodontal diseases to conduct a broader follow-up study, e.g. Understanding characteristics by which certain bacterial species appear.
