체화된 인지 관점에서 초등영재의 융합적 소양 및 문제해결에 관한 연구

A study on the STEAM literacy and problem solving of elementary gifted students in the perspective of embodied cognition: Focusing on the concept of angle in the Goldberg device.

체화된 앎은 지식 그 자체가 아니라 환경과 몸, 뇌가 상호작용하면서 인지가 일어나는 과정에 관심을 둔다. 앎이라는 것은 필연적으로 다양한 지식이 ‘융합’되는 과정을 포함하며, 이는 최근 대두되고 있는 융합교육과도 맥을 나란히 한다. 본 연구는 수학 중심의 융합프로그램 적용을 통해 체화된 앎의 관점을 실현하고자 하며, ‘각도’와 관련한 프로그램에서 나타난 학생들의 융합적 소양과 협력적 문제해결력을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 5, 6학년으로 구성된 초등영재 19명을 대상으로 수업을 실시하였으며, 사전ㆍ사후 검사지, 학생 활동 녹화 자료, 산출물, 활동지 등의 자료를 수집, 분석하였다. 사전 사후 검사 결과, 융합적 소양과 협력적 문제해결력 모두 유의미한 변화가 나타났다. 총 4개 모둠 중 1개 모둠에 대하여 학생 발화를 중심으로 협력적 문제해결력에 대한 상세한 분석을 실시하였다. 학생들은 각도를 직접 조작하고 만들어가는 과정에서 각도를 기존과는 다른 모습으로 이해할 수 있었으며, 해결 과정에서 사회적 협력과 관련된 요인의 변화가 성공적인 문제해결에 긍정적 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다.

Embodied cognition is not knowledge itself, but an awareness in the process of cognition as the environment, the body, and the brain interact. Knowing or understanding involves inevitably a process of convergence of various knowledge and this is parallel to the recent convergence education. The purpose of this study is to realize the perspective of knowing embodied through the application of mathematical convergence program. For this purpose, 19 elementary gifted students composed of the 5th and 6th graders were taught. Pre-test and post-test, student activity recordings, outputs, and activities were collected and analyzed. First, the results of the pre - test showed that there was a significant change in the ability of STEAM literacy and cooperative problem solving. In a more detailed analysis, we analyzed the cooperative problem solving ability of one group among four groups. The students STEAM literacy and collaborative problem solving ability in the program related to angle composed of elementary gifted students were analyzed. In the process of manipulating and creating angles manually, students were able to understand the angles in a different way than usual and changes in factors related to social collaboration had a positive effect on successful problem solving.
