Development of a Communication Competency Scale for University Students

본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 의사소통 역량을 측정하기 위한 도구의 제작을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 문헌연구를 바탕으로 3차에 걸친 델파이 조사, 문항개발, 예비조사 후 설문조사를 실시하여 자료 수집 후 타당도를 검증하였다. 델파이 조사는 교육학을 전공한 교내 전문가 6명, 교외 전문가 6명으로 구성된 총 12명의 전문가 패널에 의해 이루어 졌다. 문항개발은 문항개발 전문가 2명에 의해 제작 되었고, 충청도 소재 K대학 및 N대학 학생을 대상으로 2차에 걸친 예비조사를 실시한 후 타당도를 검증하였다. 1차 예비조사를 통해 탐색적 요인분석을 한 결과에 따라 요인적재량 .40에 미달한 질응응답 23번 문항, 25번 문항, 문서작성 능력 10번을 제거 하였다. 남은 의사소통역량의 하위요인은 질의응답 능력에서 적극적 경청과 이해영역에서 5개, 주제이해 능력에서 5개, 상호이해 능력에서 5개, 배려능력에서 5개, 질의 응답능력에서 3개, 문서작성 능력에서 4개였다. 이들은 요인적재량, 내용타당도, 신뢰도를 검증 받았다. 최종 문항을 확보하기 위해 대학생 573명에게 2차 예비조사를 통한 확인적 요인분석을 진행하였다. 모형 적합도를 알아보기 위해 실시한 절대 적합지수는 GFI .912, RMR .035, RMSEA .035로 기준을 만족했다. 증분 적합지수는 CGI .937, TLI .901로 기준지수를 검증받았다. 잠재변인의 수렴타당도 및 판별 타당도를 확인하기 위해 표준화 계수값, 결정계수, 개념 신뢰도를 검사하였다. 표준화 계수는 .533~.801이고, 개념 신뢰도는 .760~.854이며, 평균분산 추출지수(AVE)는 .516~.681로 기준값을 만족시켰다.

The purpose of this study was to develop a communication competency scale for university students. To do this, Three times delphi survey, items development, two pilot surveys were conducted based on literature review and then the measurement scale was confirmed. The delphi survey was examined by a panel of 12 experts who majored in Education. Question items were developed by two experts and survey was done in K and N university in Coongcheongnam province to ensure the validity of the items. As the result of exploratory factors analysis, items under .40 factor loadings were eliminated. 5 items in active listening and understanding, 5 items in understanding topic, 5 items in mutual understanding, 5 items in consideration, 3 items in answering to question, and 4 items in document writing were consisted of and reliability were acquired. In order to secure the final items. 573 university students’s data were examined a confirmatory factor analysis through the second pilot test. The absolute degree of goodness of fit test for items fitness met criteria ratio as follows, GFI .912, RMR .035, RMSEA .035, The incremental fitness was CGI .937, TLI .901, so the fitness was confirmed. To confirm convergent and discriminant validity, Standardized coefficient values, decision coefficients, and conceptual reliability were examined. The standardized coefficients ranged from .533 to .801, the mean variance extraction index (AVE) ranged from .516 to .681, and the reliability was .760 to .854. So, the measurement scale for university students was proven to be well-constructed.
