This paper revisited possible communication conflicts that can happen among intercultural communication and solutions in terms of RT translation approaches. Misperceptions in conversation normally stem from intercultural differences that mirror culture. The examples analyzed in this paper looked at possible examples that can explain misunderstanding among intercultural interlocutors between a pragmatic society and a face-oriented society. Explicit context does not require the translator s cognitive and cultural background knowledge; while implicit context requires the translator s strategic approach. What this study emphasizes is the role of the translator: A creative role. The possible solution, therefore, is a cognitive translation approach based on cultural background knowledge and contextual understanding. Another is the need for a re-definition of language education: 1) What are intercultural and munlticultural communication abilities. 2) What communication skills should students develop? 3) What direction should this teaching for translation majors be directed in? Many educational factors should be considered for translation majors in college, with reference of intercultural elements.
