Meno’s slave boy realizes his ignorance and successfully recalls the geometrical theorem through dialogue with Socrates. Therefore, we can say that Socratic dialogue is a great proceed of education. But Kojin and Rancière suggest different opinions about the dialogue between Socrates and slave boy. Kojin argues that Socratic dialogue is nothing but monologue. Rancière says that Socratic dialogue is just stultification. Nonetheless, if we can say that the dialogue between Socrates and slave boy is an educational, what is the reason? Socratic dialogue is not only about answering questions. The true purpose of Socratic dialogue is to make teacher and student encounter daimōn or erōs and to have right opinion(orthē doxa). When Socrates and his dialogist fall into madness that is heaven-sent or love, daimōn or erōs come to them and thus give them right opinion. So they can do great things and make their mind divinely. Based on these discussions, we will prove that Socratic dialogue is an educational.
