청년기 신체장애여성의 여성 정체성 형성 경험 연구

The Development of the Female Identity of Young Physically Disabled Women

본 연구의 목적은 질적연구를 통해 청년기 신체장애여성의 정체성 형성 과정을 탐색하는 것이다. 다섯 명의 연구 참여자들과의 심층 면담을 통해 청년기의 여성 정체성 경험에 관한 질적 탐색을 시도하였다. 사례 내 비교와 사례 간 비교를 토대로 분석을 실시하여 주제를 추출하고 분류하였다. 연구 결과로는 장애여성으로서 몸의 이미지에서 비롯되는 여성 정체성 논의가 주요하였다. 먼저 정상성 이데올로기에서 비롯된 여성성의 억압이 가정, 직장, 그리고 연애 관계에서 드러났다. 또한 현대사회의 청년 문화와 여성 정체성이 교차되는 지점에서 연구 참여자들은 여성성을 새롭게 인식하고 있었다. 본 연구는 그동안 장애여성의 정체성에 관한 연구에서 탐색하지 않았던 청년기 신체장애여성의 정체성을 탐구하였으며, 생물학적ㆍ사회적으로 여성 정체성 확립이 요구되는 청소년기와 성인기 여성 사이에 놓인 청년기 장애여성 집단의 정체성을 현대의 청년 문화 속에서 탐색하였다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

The aim of this qualitative research is to explore the awareness of forming identity of young physically disabled females. To explore the process of forming female identity of five participants, the narrative research methodology is applied. To analyze the data, constant comparison and consensual qualitative research method are used to extract the themes. Major finding of the study is related the body image of physically disabled females, which lead the discussion to oppression of female identity by social ideology and the awareness of gender image by intersection of the basic female identity and changing culture of youngs in modern society. The major difference of the study from advanced researches is concentrating the group of young physically disabled females.
