The Analysis of Vietnamese Elementary Mathematics Text Book: focused on Number and Operations Strand

본 연구는 베트남의 수학교육의 특성을 초등 수학교과서의 자연수와 연산을 중심으로 살펴보고 베트남 다문화 학생들의 수학 학습을 지원하기 위한 시사점을 마련하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 베트남의 초등 수학교육과정을 살펴보고, 초등 수학교과서의 학습 내용, 전개 방식, 교수-학습 방법을 알아보았다. 베트남의 자연수와 연산 지도의 특징은 전반적으로 수학적 원리와 논리를 강조하며, 실용적 측면을 반영한 학습내용들을 주로 다루며, 연산 능력의 향상을 위한 활동이 주를 이룬다. 학습 내용을 단계적으로 통합적으로 다루며, 차시의 흐름이 교사 중심의 수업에 적합하도록 제시되어 있다. 이를 통해 베트남 다문화 학생들이 수학 학습지도를 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

The study analyzed Vietnamese elementary mathematics textbooks focusing on natural numbers and operations strand to prepare suggestions for supporting Vietnamese multi-cultural students to learn math. In order to attain these purposes, this study describes the goals for Vietnamese elementary mathematics education and analyzed learning contents, deployment of contents, teaching method of elementary mathematics textbooks. Under these reflections on the documents, it is analyzed what is the characteristics of teaching number and operations strand in the Vietnamese as follows: emphasizing mathematical principles and logic, teaching contents related to real life, targeting to improve computational capability, organizing integrated contents in stages, configurating of contents for teacher-oriented classes. From this result, this study presented suggestions for supporting Vietnamese multi-cultural students to learn math.
