웹기반 PBL 프로그램 효과에 대한 메타분석

A Meta-analysis of Web-based Problem-Based Learning Program

본 연구는 메타분석 기법을 통해 웹기반 PBL 프로그램을 활용한 연구들의 효과 크기를 산출하여, 웹기반 프로그램 개발 및 적용에 있어 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 국내 석·박사 학위 논문 및 학술지 논문을 대상으로 검색하고 PICOS에 의거하여 20편의 연구에서 얻어진 28개의 효과크기를 산출하였으며, 이를 대상으로 R을 이용하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 웹기반 PBL 프로그램을 활용한 연구들의 평균 효과크기는 1.22로 큰 효과크기를 나타내 웹기반 PBL 프로그램의 효과가 입증되었다. 그러나 큰 이질성이 있음이 확인되어( I²= 91.8%) 평균 효과크기에 영향을 주는 변수를 검증하기 위해 투입기간과 연구대상, 종속변인 그리고 학습단계를 조절변수로 하여 메타 ANOVA를 추가적으로 실시하였다. 그 결과 투입기간과 종속변인에서는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았으나, 연구대상과 학습단계에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내 이질성의 원인을 발견하였다. 따라서 웹기반 PBL 프로그램은 중학생을 연구대상으로 하였을 때, 학습단계를 9단계로 하였을 때 가장 큰 효과를 볼 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 추후 웹기반 PBL 프로그램 제작 및 구성에 있어 중요한 근거를 제공 할 것으로 사료되며, 더욱 향상된 수업 효과를 얻는데 도움이 될 것으로 보인다.

The purpose of this research was to analyze web-based problem-based learning program using a meta-analysis method and explored the flow of research conducted and the possibilities for future research. This research collected PISCO data on domestic master & doctoral theses and journals. It then calculated 28 effect sizes obtained from 20 studies and used meta-analysis with R. The result of research is as follows. First, the average effect size from web-based problem-based learning program was 1.22 as the large effect size. This result proved the effect of web-based problem-based learning program. The heterogeneity of the average effect size was large (I²= 91.8%), and META - ANOVA was used as a control variable to test variables affecting the average effect size. As a result, there were statistically significant differences in the research subjects, and learning stage. Web-based problem-based learning is most effective when it is used for the object of study is on middle school students, and nine learning stage. Therefore, the results of this research are expected to provide an essential basis for future web-based problem-based learning program creation and composition, and it will help to achieve more effective class effect.
