Less attention has been devoted to indentifying the sources of police officer resilience despite its important functioning in stress management. The purpose of this study is to accumulate and provide empirical evidence for a better understanding of police officers` resilience. More specifically, the current study examines police officers` level of resilience conducive to stress management. In addition, this research tests the influence of demographic characteristics - gender, age, marital status, rank, length of service, and recruitment routs - on officer s level of resilience to determine whether significant differences exist in the level of resilience. To this end, independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted using a sample of 360 police officers. The results indicate that marital status only showed significant difference in the level of resilience. This finding contributes to policing literature by investigating police officers` resilience that enables them to effectively deal with stressor.
