결혼이주여성의 산모돌봄 활동경험:

Work Experience of Mother Helping by Married Immigrant Women: Focused on the Cases of Educated Woman of the Multicultural Mother Helper Training

이 연구는 다문화산모도우미로 일하고 있는 결혼이주여성을 심층 면담하여 다문화산모도우미로서의 활동경험을 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 연구참여자는 다문화산모도우미로 일하는 10명의 결혼이주여성들이다. 자료분석 결과를 보면 첫째, 다문화산모도우미 활동경험은 4개의 주제를 중심으로 총 216개의 의미있는 진술문, 66개의 개념 및 문구, 24개의 하위범주, 12개의 범주로 도출되었다. 둘째, 한국에서의 산후관리 경험은‘말이 통하지 않아 산후관리가 막막함’,‘문화적 차이로 인한 적응 어려움’, ‘같은 처치의 결혼이주여성이 도움이 됨’으로 도출되었다. 셋째, 다문화산모도우미 교육참여 동기는‘도움을 받은 만큼 돌려주고 싶음’과 ‘자신의 가족에게 도움이 되고 싶음’으로 도출되었다. 넷째, 연구참여자의 다문화산모도우미 활동 및 결과는‘교육 자체를 통한 자아성장’,‘전문가가 되어감’,‘다문화산모와 아기의 건강이 향상됨’,‘사회적 관계가 넓어짐’,‘자신의 한국생활 적응에 도움이 됨’으로 도출되었다. 다섯째, 다문화산모도우미 활동이 주는 의미는‘산모도우미는 일이 아니라 자원봉사임’,‘한국사회의 당당한 구성원이됨’으로 도출되었다. 본 연구결과가 결혼이주여성의 다문화산모도우미 사업활성화와 결혼이주여성의 일자리 창출을 위한 정부 및 지자체 차원의 정책이나 지원방안을 마련하는데 기초자료로 활용되기 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the work experience of a multicultural mother helper who was working as a multicultural mother’s helper. Individual in-depth interviews and qualitative content analysis were used for data collection and analysis. Participants were 10 multicultural mothers’helper. The results are as follows. First, their experiences as a multicultural mother helper resulted in 12 categories with the priority given to the 4 main themes, including 24 sub-categories, 66 concepts and phrases and 216 meaningful statements in total. Second, the experience of postpartum care in the Korea category showed that‘postpartum care is difficult due to lack of language’,‘adaptation is difficult due to cultural differences’, and‘married immigrant women of the same kind are helpful’. Third, the motivation for participating in multicultural mother helper education category was‘to return as much as I have been helped’, and‘to be helpful to my family’. Forth, the activities and results of a multicultural mother helper were‘self growth through education itself’,‘becoming an expert’,‘improving the health of mothers and babies’,‘having a wider social relations’,‘ and‘helping to adapt in Korea’. Finally, the meaning of a multicultural mother helper was that‘mother helper is not paid workers but volunteers’, and‘become a dignified member of Korean society’. In conclusion, the results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for government and multicultural policies and support for the development of multicultural mother helper and job creation for married immigrant women.
