어휘부 모형 설정과 등재 과정 기술에서 고려할 점에 대하여 - 정한데로(2015)를 중심으로

On Setting the Grammatical Model and Explaining the Storage of Language Units: A Critical Review of Jung (2015), Morphology

본고는 정한데로(2015), 『한국어 등재소의 형성과 변화』에 대한 서평 논문이다. 정한데로(2015)는 어휘부 등재 단위의 형성과 변화 과정을 체계화하고자 한 연구 이다. 등재소의 형성과 변화를 ‘등재’라는 단계를 중심으로 구조화한 뒤, 형태론적 단위뿐만 아니라 통사론적 단위까지 등재의 단위로 삼아 이들 단위의 형성과 변화 과정을 일반화시켜 기술하였다. 본고는 어휘부 모형 설정과 등재 과정 기술에서 고려할 점을 중심으로 정한데로(2015)를 비판적으로 검토하였다. 형태부 결과물과 통사부 결과물의 성격 차이가 현재의 모형보다는 문법 모형의 구조를 상정하는 데 좀더 영향을 줄 여지가 있다고 보았고, 연구가 취하고 있는 문법적인 접근이 등재와 관련된 유효한 설명을 하는 데 일정 부분 한계가 있다고 하였다.

This is a review of Handero Jung’s dissertation on “A Study on the Formation and Change of Listemes in Korean” (2015). Jung (2015) aimed to “provide a systematic explanation of the formation and change of listemes.” Jung (2015) suggested that the formation and change of listemes could be systematically explained by placing the “listedness” stage in the middle. This study posited that not only morphological units but syntactic units are units that could be stored in the lexicon, and described the formation and changes of such units into three stages: “formation → listedness → change.” This review critically examined Jung (2015) by focusing on its process of establishing the grammatical model, and on its explanation on how the language units are stored. This paper presented two issues, first of which is that the difference in the characteristics of the morphological and syntactic units could have even more influence on the structure of the model (than the current model). Second, the data that Jung (2015) selected and the way it approaches the data to have considerable limitations to effectively explain listemes.
