In this article, we introduce Circular statistics and SCN family of distributions. The semicircular skew normal(SCSN) flmily of distributions for observations on the half-circle and for axial data is developed. The SCSN family of distributions are based on the semicircular normal distributions which were developed by Guardiola(2004). The SCSN contains the SCN as a special case when the shape parameter equals to 0. The SCN and the SCSN have very convenient mathematical features. Moreover, simulation ofobservations from a SCN(SCSN) is straight-forward in most computer packages through transformation of simulated standard normal(skew normal) variables, respectively.
